Handmade Pottery in Monterey County
by Louie Benitez IV
Louie has been honing his pottery skills for more than 4 years, initially as a self-taught artist before branching out to attend workshops. His expertise includes wheel throwing, hand building, Japanese-style Kurinuki, and glazing. Throughout the years, he has established a well-equipped studio in King City, filled with high-quality tools to achieve excellent pottery results. Currently, he teaches courses at Sol Treasures in town and is now expanding to offer classes at his own studio. All skill levels are welcome, and no prior experience is needed to join!
Pottery Classes

Handbuilding
Handbuilding is a pottery-making technique that involves using your hands to form clay into a pot or vessel. It's an ancient method that doesn't require a pottery wheel.
The most common handbuilding techniques are pinch pottery, coil building, and slab building

Wheel Throwing
Dive into the art of wheel throwing with Louie! Experience a fun and relaxing environment as you create unique pottery pieces on the wheel.
